MY CHERIE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all appointments and services provided by My Cherie Tattoo Studio and My Cherie Beauty, referred to throughout these Terms as “My Cherie”, “we”, “us” or “our”.

Our services include tattoos, permanent makeup (“PMU”), piercings and related beauty treatments.

By booking an appointment, paying a deposit or attending the studio, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms. Your treatment may also be subject to additional consent forms, medical questionnaires, patch-testing requirements and treatment-specific aftercare instructions.

1. Bookings and Deposits

Appointments are offered on an appointment-only basis.

A deposit or advance payment may be required to secure your appointment. Tattoo appointments normally require a £100 non-refundable deposit, unless a different amount is confirmed at the time of booking.

Your appointment is not confirmed until the required deposit or payment has been received. Dates and times cannot be held without payment.

Deposits:

  • Are deducted from the final cost of your treatment.

  • Are non-refundable if you cancel, fail to attend or decide not to proceed.

  • Cannot be transferred to another client, artist, practitioner or treatment without our prior agreement.

  • May be transferred once to a new appointment where at least 72 hours’ notice is provided.

You must provide accurate contact information when booking, including your full name, email address and telephone number.

2. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We require at least 72 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule your appointment.

Your deposit may be transferred once to a new appointment when sufficient notice is provided. Further rescheduling will normally require a new deposit.

If you cancel your appointment, provide less than 72 hours’ notice or choose not to proceed, your deposit will be forfeited.

Failure to attend without notice will result in the loss of your deposit. A new deposit will be required before another appointment can be booked.

Repeated cancellations, late rescheduling or failure to attend may result in future bookings being declined.

3. Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive late:

  • Your treatment time may be shortened.

  • Your appointment may need to be rescheduled or cancelled if there is insufficient time to complete the treatment safely.

  • You may still be charged from your original appointment time.

  • Your deposit may be forfeited if the appointment can no longer go ahead.

For appointments charged by time, billing begins from the original appointment time and includes preparation and set-up.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you believe you may be late.

4. Pricing and Payment

Our tattoo studio minimum is £150, regardless of the tattoo’s size or the amount of time required.

Any prices displayed on our website, booking system or social media as “from” prices are starting prices only. They are not confirmed quotes for individual treatments.

Please contact us for a tattoo quote before booking through an online booking system unless we have specifically directed you to book a particular service.

Tattoo quotes are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry. The final price may change if the design, size, placement, colour, detail or time required changes.

For appointments charged by time, billing begins from your appointment time and includes set-up.

The remaining balance must be paid on the day of your appointment using one of the payment methods accepted by the studio. Unless otherwise agreed, payment must be completed before leaving the studio.

Prices may change without notice. A confirmed quote will normally be honoured unless the requested work or treatment requirements change.

5. Tattoo Designs

No deposit, no design.

Custom design work begins only after your appointment has been secured with a deposit.

Tattoo designs are not sent or shown before the appointment. Your design will be presented to you on the day, when reasonable minor adjustments can be discussed with your artist.

Major changes to the original request may require:

  • Additional design time.

  • A change in price.

  • A new appointment.

  • A new deposit.

We will not directly copy another tattoo artist’s original work. Reference and inspiration images are welcome, but the design may be adapted to create an original piece.

We reserve the right to modify or refuse designs that appear to copy another creator’s work, are unsuitable for tattooing or appear to have been generated without proper consideration of tattooability.

The artist retains the intellectual property rights in their original drawings and tattoo designs unless otherwise agreed in writing. Designs may not be reproduced, sold, distributed, tattooed by another artist or used commercially without permission.

6. Tattoo Suitability and Placement

The artist may recommend changes to a tattoo’s size, placement, colour or level of detail where necessary to improve its safety, readability, healing or longevity.

Certain placements, including hands, fingers, feet and other areas exposed to frequent washing, movement or friction, are more likely to fade or heal patchily.

Perfect retention cannot be guaranteed. Fine lines and small details may spread, fade or require adjustment as the tattoo heals and ages.

We may refuse any tattoo that we believe is unsafe, unsuitable, unlikely to heal well or outside the artist’s professional ability or ethical boundaries.

7. Tattoo Touch-Ups

Our advertised tattoo touch-up services apply only to eligible tattoos originally completed at My Cherie.

Complimentary touch-ups, where approved, must normally be:

  • Requested within six months of the original appointment.

  • Assessed using clear healed photographs.

  • Booked alongside another tattoo appointment.

Touch-ups requested outside these conditions may be chargeable.

Touch-ups may not be complimentary where fading, patchiness or damage has resulted from:

  • Failure to follow aftercare instructions.

  • Picking or scratching the tattoo.

  • Sun exposure.

  • Swimming or soaking during healing.

  • Friction or repeated trauma.

  • A high-movement or high-friction placement.

  • Changes made by another artist.

Tattoos completed by another artist or studio are treated as new tattoo work and are subject to our £150 studio minimum. Please send clear photographs for assessment before booking.

8. Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup services are available to clients aged 18 and over only.

A consultation, medical questionnaire and patch test may be required before treatment. Where required, the patch test must normally be completed 24 to 48 hours before the appointment.

If you do not complete the required patch test or consultation, your treatment may need to be postponed or cancelled. The applicable deposit and cancellation policy will apply.

PMU results vary depending on factors including:

  • Skin type and condition.

  • Natural pigmentation.

  • Lifestyle.

  • Medication and medical history.

  • Sun exposure.

  • Healing response.

  • Aftercare.

  • Previous permanent makeup or tattooing.

No exact colour, shape, retention level or healed result can be guaranteed.

Permanent makeup normally fades over time and may require more than one session. Lip neutralisation in particular may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired result.

Where a treatment package includes a top-up, it must be completed within the timeframe confirmed at booking. Late, missed or additional top-up sessions may be chargeable.

A top-up is not a replacement for following the aftercare instructions provided.

9. Piercings

All piercings are subject to an anatomy assessment. We may refuse or recommend an alternative piercing if your anatomy is unsuitable or the piercing would be unsafe.

Initial piercing jewellery will be selected based on anatomy, swelling allowance, healing requirements and safety. A particular style or placement cannot be guaranteed until you have been assessed.

Some piercings require professional downsizing once the initial swelling has settled. Downsizing is not included unless specifically stated at the time of booking.

You must not remove or replace healing jewellery yourself unless instructed by a qualified piercer or medical professional.

Healing times vary between individuals. Irritation, migration, rejection, scarring and jewellery loss can occur even when a piercing has been performed correctly.

We do not guarantee that every piercing will heal successfully.

My Cherie does not provide genital or intimate piercings.

10. Age Requirements and Identification

Tattoos and permanent makeup are strictly 18+.

Valid photographic identification may be requested even if you appear to be over 18. We accept original, in-date identification such as a passport, driving licence or other government-issued photographic ID.

Photographs or copies of identification may not be accepted.

Piercing age requirements vary depending on the piercing:

  • We do not pierce anyone under the age of 16.

  • Clients aged 16 or 17 may only receive selected piercings and must attend with a parent or legal guardian.

  • Both the client and parent or guardian may be required to provide valid identification.

  • Nipple and dermal piercings are strictly 18+.

  • Certain piercings may be restricted to clients aged 18 and over at the piercer’s discretion.

If appropriate identification or consent cannot be provided, the treatment will be refused and the applicable cancellation policy may apply.

11. Medical Information and Treatment Suitability

You must provide complete and accurate information about anything that may affect your treatment or healing, including:

  • Medical conditions.

  • Allergies and sensitivities.

  • Medication.

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • Skin conditions.

  • Blood-borne viruses.

  • Previous allergic reactions.

  • Previous tattoos, PMU, piercings or related treatments.

  • Recent surgery or medical procedures.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in your treatment being refused or postponed.

Your artist or practitioner may refuse or postpone treatment where they believe it would be unsafe, unsuitable or inappropriate.

We may request medical approval before proceeding with certain treatments. Providing medical approval does not require an artist or practitioner to carry out a treatment they consider unsafe.

Please contact us before attending if you are unwell or have symptoms of an infectious illness.

12. Results, Healing and Aftercare

Every person heals differently. No specific cosmetic, healed or aesthetic result can be guaranteed.

You must carefully follow all verbal and written aftercare instructions provided.

We are not responsible for healing problems, infections, irritation, fading, pigment loss or other complications caused or worsened by:

  • Failure to follow aftercare.

  • Undisclosed medical information.

  • Picking, scratching or touching the area.

  • Using unsuitable products.

  • Swimming, soaking, sun exposure or excessive friction.

  • Changing jewellery too early.

  • Receiving advice or treatment from another person during healing.

If you have concerns following a treatment, please contact us as soon as possible with clear photographs and details of your symptoms.

We cannot diagnose medical conditions. If you experience signs of a serious infection, allergic reaction or other medical concern, you should obtain advice from a qualified medical professional.

13. Client Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse or stop a treatment if a client:

  • Is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • Behaves abusively, threateningly, sexually inappropriately or disrespectfully.

  • Fails to follow reasonable safety instructions.

  • Creates a health, hygiene or safety concern.

  • Provides false or misleading information.

  • Attempts to pressure an artist or practitioner into performing an unsuitable treatment.

Abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour towards artists, practitioners, staff or other clients will result in the immediate termination of the appointment without a refund.

Only the client and guests specifically approved by the studio may enter treatment areas. We may limit guests due to space, privacy, hygiene or safety requirements.

Children are not permitted in treatment areas unless they are attending for an approved service with their parent or legal guardian.

14. Photography and Recording

We may need to take photographs of the treatment area for consultation, treatment planning, record-keeping, insurance or monitoring the healing process.

Photographs or videos will only be used for marketing, our website, portfolio or social media where you have given permission. Refusing marketing permission will not affect your ability to receive treatment.

You may withdraw permission for future marketing use by contacting us in writing. This will not necessarily affect content that has already been lawfully published or shared.

Clients must ask permission before photographing, filming or recording artists, practitioners, staff or other clients inside the studio.

15. Independent Artists and Practitioners

Some artists or practitioners working from My Cherie may operate as independent professionals.

Where your treatment is provided by an independent artist or practitioner, they remain responsible for their professional judgement, consultation, treatment and aftercare.

We will make reasonable efforts to identify the artist or practitioner responsible for your appointment.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

16. Cancellation by My Cherie

We may need to cancel, postpone or reschedule an appointment due to illness, emergency, equipment failure, studio issues, safety concerns, treatment suitability or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will provide as much notice as reasonably possible.

If we cancel your appointment and cannot offer a suitable alternative, any deposit or advance payment relating to the cancelled appointment will be refunded.

We are not responsible for additional expenses such as travel, accommodation, childcare or loss of earnings resulting from an appointment being cancelled or rescheduled, except where the law requires otherwise.

17. Gift Vouchers

Where offered, gift vouchers:

  • Are non-refundable.

  • Cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Cannot be resold.

  • Must be used before the expiry date stated at purchase.

  • Are subject to appointment availability and our standard booking and cancellation policies.

No cash change will be given. Lost, stolen or expired vouchers may not be replaced.

18. Complaints

If you have a concern about your treatment or experience, please contact us as soon as possible and preferably within 30 days of your appointment.

Please include:

  • Your name and contact information.

  • The date of your appointment.

  • The name of your artist or practitioner.

  • Details of your concern.

  • Clear photographs where relevant.

We will aim to acknowledge and respond to complaints within 14 days.

This complaints procedure does not affect your statutory rights.

19. Data Protection and Privacy

We collect and store personal information required to manage bookings and provide safe services. This may include your name, contact details, identification details, medical information, consent forms, treatment records and photographs.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and our Privacy Policy.

Information may be shared where necessary to provide the service, comply with legal or licensing obligations, manage insurance matters, protect health and safety or where you have provided consent.

You may have the right to access, correct or request the deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal, licensing, insurance or record-retention requirements.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version applying to your appointment will normally be the version available when your booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or for urgent health and safety reasons.

21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms limits or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
